Pesto Genoa (pesto alla Genovese) is a traditional sauce produced using only basil from the Liguria and pine nuts from the Italian hillsides blended together with the finest extra virgin olive oil. Not all commercial pesto sauces available can make this claim.
Pesto Genoa is magnificent on pasta or added to soups (i.e. minestrone) and boiled meats. Try adding a little to your homemade tomato sauce for the added depth of basil flavor.
