My New Addiction April 19, 2006 Autumn Hernandez (Pearland, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I too received a nice sized jar of this through bzzagent to try out. Until then I had heard of it from the Food Channel and such, but had never been adventurous enough to try it. Boy was I missing out. I distinctly remember a box of chocolates that I received from a jr. high boyfriend that were chocolate hazelnut that I fell in love with. Until now, I have never found anything that came close as far as taste. Nutella definitely filled that void for me. It's creamy and chocolatey, and the hazelnut taste is not overpowering or anything. My family and I love it on graham crackers, apple slices, pretzels, actually anything we can find to dip into it or spread it on. lol It's a nice change from peanut butter which is also a close second for me. ;)
Everyone loves it. Great on soft white bread. Yummmmmy! December 15, 2005 Juanita E. Estrada (Kissimmee, FL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I grew up as an Army brat in Germany and my mom is German. Because of the commercials and the kids there, I somehow got a chance to taste this stuff and the first time I saw it here in the U.S. I nearly screamed with joy. I bought jars for my friends so that they got a chance to enjoy it. Hopefully they haven't or will not Americanize it by adding extra sugar.
"Kinder Chocolate" eggs with toys inside are next, or just the bars.
A great taste treat, fairly widely available, but . . . October 15, 2004 Christian McCallister (The waters of the Great Lakes) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nutella is a creamy blend, similar in consistency to peanut butter, but composed of chocolate and pureed hazelnut. It can be spread on cookies, toast, bread, cake, pound cake, muffins, doughnuts, bagels, or fingers. It is very tasty, and adds something special to whatever it is is spread upon.
However, Cote d'Or used to make two products that I preferred over Nutella: Chocopasta (darker, more chocolatey, no hazelnut, thicker than Nutella) and Chocopasta Elite (whipped Chocopasta, like mousse). I cannot find them. Until I do, Nutella is a nice stand-in.
Nutella is amazing. February 27, 2004 Brian Leone (Pittsburgh, PA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just want to say that I'm eating Nutella right now, and it's nothing short of amazing. You pay about the same as a jar of peanut butter (another favorite of mine), and you get the equivolent of that stuff inside those gold foil ferrero chocolate things. I'm a runner for the University of Pittsburgh, and it's the one thing I never forget to bring to meets. Don't get too much of it if you're prone to gaining weight, however. While it's really good, it has 11 grams of fat per every 27 grams of nutella, making it over a third pure fat. If you're already fat, and you know that those Subway walks aren't going to make you into the next Jared, however, get some of this stuff. It's like Ben and Jerry's, only spreadable.
