3.69 at Safeway Supermarket for a lb, in fact most markets carry this brand around this 4 dollar price. Why is Amazon charging 12.75?

5 out of 5 stars Best Mascarpone on the Market   October 4, 2007

I am a Private Chef in New York City and this is my favorite brand of mascarpone, it doesn't have the "commercial" aftertaste some supermarket brands have. Whip it with a little heavy cream and powdered sugar and serve it with fresh strawberries, finish with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction and you've got a dessert made in Heaven, and all it takes is 3 minutes. Great also to make Tiramisu. Hope that helps.

5 out of 5 stars Marvelous Mascarpone   February 16, 2004

Galbani Mascarpone is, in my opinion, the finest on the market, definitely worth the cost. It tastes like a dessert, without anything added to it. We like it with smoked salmon, thinly sliced onion, and capers. I'm delighted to have found it at amazon.com; the stores in New Orleans don't seem to be stocking it anymore.
