I was so happy to find this custard, being South African we use it in a lot of recipes and I have a tough time finding it in the US. The seller was great, the shipping was super quick and I got the double sized canister for a great deal. It was a creamy and tasty over my malva pudding, next up I'll put it in a trifle...

I bought this for a specific recipe in a book and I like the flavor so much I've been looking for more ways to use it. The cake I made with it turned out beautifully, as did the cookies. The cookies didn't even last until the next day! The flavor is mild, but very present in baked goods and custard creams.

I HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT UNTIL I SAW IT USED IN CHEESECAKE ON "NIGELLA FEASTS" ON THE FOOD NETWORK. IT CAME PROMPTLY AND CORRECTLY. IT ADDS A RICHNESS TO EVERYTHING I'VE USED IT IN. GREAT FUN TO TRY NEW COOKING PRODUCTS.

This product is great. Its much easier to get in Canada that's why I ordered it online since I am now living in the US. However after the fact - I did find it available at Cost Plus World Market. Next time I will pay attention to the volume of the product. The picture is not the right one. This Double size is really waay to much for my use. I think I now have a lifetime supply.
Using custard powder is way better in homemade nanaimo bars than using vanilla pudding mixes.
